AC Shadows Introduces Bizarre AoT Event for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre crossover event that breaks conventional forecasts, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.
Strange Adventure Revealed
According to the authorized announcement, "A strange meeting draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where whispers of prohibited ceremonies and monstrous changes echo through the shadows." The storyline features a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a clandestine sect.
The questline focuses on "bizarre experiments and a fearsome adversary" and is accessible to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Iconic Locations and Metamorphoses
The preview features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer concludes with a dramatic scene showing a character, likely the hostage, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Items and Additional Content
Players who successfully complete the quest will obtain an exclusive katana in addition to several items concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Unique arms
- Survey Corps steed
Newest Free Story Addition
This patch also adds the game's newest complimentary story addition, titled "The Mystery." This playful mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive skills: Naoe debuts a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
Previous Anime Collaborations
This marks not the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with popular anime franchises. The series formerly showcased a 2020 crossover story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Additionally, Valhalla subtly featured a quest that unmistakably referenced the popular series One-Punch Man.
